Enable Agent Proxy by default for all Scom Agents

Agent Proxy for managed servers is disabled by default in SCOM.

However an increasing amount of Management Packs rely on this setting being enabled and it if it isn’t enabled an Agent Proxy not enabled alert is triggered.

These MPs include Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, Lync 2013, Skype For Business etc

You can manually enable proxy using the Agent Managed view in the Admin tab of the console or by using powershell.

But the easiest way is just to make it the default setting so you don’t need to worry about it when you add servers to be monitored into your SCOM management group.

To do this just run the following powershell cmdlet on your scom management servers:-

add-pssnapin “Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.OperationsManager.Client”;
new-managementGroupConnection -ConnectionString:localhost;
set-location “OperationsManagerMonitoring::”;
Set-DefaultSetting -Name HealthService\ProxyingEnabled -Value True
