Remotely logoff a user from a server via cmd line

If you want to rdp onto a server but find that there are too many connections you can use the cmd line to logoff users.

Open up a command prompt

Type:-

qwinsta /SERVER:<servername>

This will return information about sessionname, username, ID, and State

To logoff a particular user you need to type:-

logoff /SERVER:<servername> <session_id>

If you run the qwinsta command again you should see that the session is no longer connected
