Get Alerts for a specific host

This handy powershell one liner will retrieve all SCOM alerts for a specific host and output them to a CSV file:-

get-alert -criteria ‘NetbiosComputerName = ”ComputerHostname”’| export-csv c:\alert.csv

NOTE:-It won’t show you any alerts that have been groomed out of the OpsDb.

ALTERNATIVELY:-There is a canned report in System Center Core Monitoring Reports called Data Volume By Management Pack, which should tell you the number of alerts, events, discovery events, state changes, and/or performance data collected for a certain management pack or management packs over a certain period of time.
